Instead of nouns that single out men, women, African-Americans, Jamaicans, Kenyans, etc., the Black Experience is the shared experience of being Black, based on the historical limitations placed on Blackness. Positive Black new highlights the decisions, time investments, monetary spending, and social conversations around Blackness. But it’s also founded on present-day responsibility. Being aware of what’s holding the Experience back is easy, but how will you contribute to self, community, and the overall healing of the Black Experience?
